St. Josef’s Foundation, Sendenhorst - Rehabilitation Hospital Description

St. Josef’s Foundation, Sendenhorst has gone down a new path with the rehabilitation centre, situated as it is right at the location of the acute in-patient specialist hospital. The rehabilitation centre enables a continuous treatment including rehabilitation aftercare, mainly for patients who were previously operated, primarily with orthopaedic indications.

The maximum three-storey new structure is situated in the hospital’s park and is linked to the main building by a corridor. It has over 90 generously-lit single rooms of hotel standard, various treatment rooms on the ground floor, and above it has its restaurant and a terrace linking with the park.

The building divides into two brick buildings, with both an inner courtyard. A glazed vertical entrance and rear area connect the two volumes. For reasons of harmony, the arrangement of the façades includes elements and materials from the original buildings and the recently-completed extension buildings.
